Shaun Juniper’s Sunshine Coast estate for sale after buying Lindeman Island for $11m
Having paid just $11m for Lindeman Island, Queensland developer Shaun Juniper and wife Samantha are selling up their luxury home on the coast for $15m.
The purchasers of Lindeman Island, prominent Queensland developer Shaun Juniper and his wife Samantha, have placed their luxury Sunshine Coast hinterland estate on the market ahead of their relocation to Lindeman Island off Queensland’s Airlie Beach.
The Junipers, co-founders of one of Queensland’s largest privately-owned development groups, recently bought Lindeman Island, once a Club Med Resort, from Chinese company White Horse Group for a bargain price of around $11m.
They plan to reinstate the once glamorous resort in the heart of The Great Barrier Reef to its former glory after it has laid dormant for 11 years with plans for a six-star luxury health retreat on the island around 15 km from the Oatley family-owned Hamilton Island.
Lindeman Island’s selling agent CBRE national director Wayne Bunz declined to comment, but records reveal White Horse Group paid $12.5m for the island in 2011 and failed to redevelop it despite extensive plans and Queensland government consultations.
Meanwhile in the Sunshine Coast the Junipers will auction their 8.13ha luxury property fronting Dales Road, Chevallum, which comprises a main residence, as well as outbuildings, and an 800 sqm shed, on January 28.
Industry sources expect the 8 ha plus property could fetch around $15m, breaking suburb records, adding the island-owning couple will sell it prior to auction if they get the right price.
Described as ‘rural meets Louis Vuitton’, the Sunshine Coast property is being
marketed by Danny Redman, principal at Ken Guy Buderim.
The property’s outbuildings include the large shed incorporating a gym, secondary dwelling, a showroom, and jet swimming pool.
“There is even an undercover turnaround for a full-size articulated Pantech (truck), if the toys get to a serious level,” marketing agent Mr Redman said.
“The shed has a real party vibe and is more than popular when entertainment needs to be away from the main home.”
Mr Redman said the 1360 sq m house comprises two master ensuites located on each of the north facing wings with “amazing views’.
“The billiard lounge and the bar could be taken from ‘Raffles Hotel’ in Singapore,” he claimed.
“The gourmet masterchef kitchen features a Wolf six-burner freestanding stove,
Sub-Zero double door refrigerator and freezer, Sub-Zero under bench wine cabinet,
Qasair rangehood, Miele dishwashers and exquisite stone benchtops.”
Verandas are decked with spotted gum while American Oak flooring is throughout the house.
The estate is located in a hinterland setting within 20 minutes of beaches, 15 minutes from private schools, and 25 minutes from the airport.
CoreLogic records reveal the Junipers purchased the site back in 2013 for $750,000.
The marketing campaign begins in early January.
