Whips cracking for Lloyd Williams villa in Port Douglas
Businessman and horse trainer Lloyd Williams and wife Suzanne are offloading a redundant Port Douglas investment villa.
Melbourne businessman and legendary horse trainer Lloyd Williams and wife Suzanne are offloading a redundant Port Douglas investment villa. It is a four-bedroom villa within the Mirage complex. It comes not long after the couple added a further two smaller villas to their holdings within the compound, paying $1.7 million each for the two-bedders. The one they are offloading has been used as a retreat for family members, and never publicly rented. The Pink Agency’s Callum Jones has the listing. He cryptically says in the marketing it is owned by a “villa connoisseur”. With its position on the golf course close to the beach, Jones describes it as one of the best in the former Qintex development.
Property guru’s home for auction
Selling Houses Australia property guru Andrew Winter and wife Caroline have decided to go to auction to sell their redundant Sanctuary Cove home. They have opted for their third agents to find the elusive buyer. Its initial private treaty offering was in January when asking $3.995m. The next agents came in April. Charlon Delos Angeles and Alister Billingsley from Amir Mian Prestige Properties have a September 15 auction date. Winter renovated the Marine Drive East home after paying $1.9m in 2017. The Winters are trading in Sanctuary Cove for Mermaid Beach, where they have spent $1.525m on a single-storey, three-bedroom renovation project.
Fashion chief’s offering
Christian Tana, of the luxury men’s apparel brand Parker and Co, and wife Cassandra are selling their Dalkeith home with plans to build their next home. The couple paid $2.3m for the 1940s-built home in 2013 when they were moving from Claremont. A barbecue alfresco adjoins the saltwater, solar-heated pool. Ray White agent Jody Fewster says the backyard was its standout feature. She is offering a $3m-plus guidance. Parker and Co has been a Perth fashion destination since its establishment in 1895.
Boulevard trophy sells for $8.25m
The St Kilda Road, Melbourne boulevard has seen a rare trophy home sale. Landene, the 1890s mansion, has fetched $8.25m. The residence, renovated and restored after its last sale in 1992, was long a boarding house and sometimes a squatters’ digs. Tea merchant McHenry England and wife Gertrude built the grand Queen Anne home in 1897. The Postmaster General’s Department bought it 1949 and used it as offices, with it becoming the St Kilda Road Central Post Office in 1962. It sold through Harcourts agent Dionne Wilson. The strip is better known for its apartments, with the current priciest being one of the penthouse apartments in the Royal Domain Tower. The Wong family has it listed with a guide of $15.5m-$16.5m through RT Edgar Toorak agent Sarah Case, who already has strong expatriate interest. Trophy Homes mistakenly identified retailer Solly Lew as the vendor last weekend.
