Model Megan Gale has found a buyer for her designer mansion in Aberfeldie. It took just 26 days for the contemporary five-bedder to sell. It sold private treaty through Charlie Bongiovanni at alexkarbon, who sold her the home when she paid $2.375 million in 2013. Bongiovanni was seeking offers above $2.5m. It’s expected Gale will upgrade her home in Melbourne after the news her partner, Richmond ruckman Shaun Hampson, has signed with the club for another two years. Set near the Maribyrnong River, the modern home comes with a theatre room and a large sunken lounge with fireplace. The lounge transitions to an undercover alfresco area overlooking an infinity pool. Late last year the Australia’s Next Top Model judge scored $3m for her Sydney weekender at Palm Beach. Now the last of Gale’s Perth co-owned property portfolio is for sale, too. The Attadale home, south of Perth, is being sold with a guide of $1.3m through Moncrieff Realty agent Anita Moncrieff. Gale recently signed off on the $515,000 sale of one of the family’s properties in her home town, Perth. The three-bedroom home just outside Fremantle had been in the co-ownership of Megan, mother May and late father Alan since 2005, when they paid $332,000.
Watson sells grass-topped home
Daylesford and Hepburn Mineral Water Co founder Mitch Watson has secured $1.4m for his unusual Daylesford home. Set at the foothills of Victoria’s spa district, it was designed by Joost Bakker with the sustainability guru’s trademark grassed rooftop. The Green House occupies a 3ha site. The three-bedroom residence is billed as Australia’s first bushfire-resistant straw house. It also has sustainable solar power and hot water systems. It is expected to sell for about $1.45m through Jellis Craig agent Tom May.
Former Lions on the move
The Hawthorne home of former Brisbane Lions coach Justin Leppitsch and wife Christie is under contract. Leppitsch, who was released by the Lions last year after three years at the helm, paid $1.3m for the six-bedroom home in 2014. Justin and Christie spent two years renovating the Queenslander. A saltwater pool and cubby house make up the backyard on the 810sq m parcel. Place Bulimba agent Simon Dean had a $1.6m buyer’s guide on the home. Leppitsch, who played more than 220 games for the Brisbane Bears and Lions, has teamed up with the Richmond Tigers, again as the assistant coach. Another former Brisbane Lions coach, Michael Voss, and wife Donna, are selling their Coorparoo home, Nu Haven. The couple paid $2.55m for the five-bedroom family entertainer in 2009 when Voss took over as head coach at the Lions. It became a $1200-a-week rental at the end of 2015. The home was listed through Place Bulimba by Voss, who has returned to AFL coaching as Port Adelaide Power’s midfield manager.
