Former Socceroo turned property developer Stan Lazaridis has sold his Perth home for $2.9m. The left winger, who was capped 60 times, bought the City Beach property in 1997 when he was playing for West Ham in London. He knocked down the 1970s home and built a house, marketed as influenced by Versace’s mansion, in 2006, the year he joined Perth Glory from Birmingham. Past its grand entry foyer with piano, the home on 900sq m has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a cinema and games room. An alfresco entertaining space overlooks a swimming pool, spa and bar. Ray White Dalkeith Claremont agents Vivien Yap and Phoebe Shi had the listing. Lazaridis took to the property game after retiring in 2008.
Miner looks to offload home
Mining industry veteran Brad Gordon has listed Winbrook, his Brisbane mansion for a November 30 auction. It has been listed by Christine Rudolph and Matt Lancashire of Ray White. The Kalinga house features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, plus a floodlit tennis court with elevated spectators’ rotunda. There is a pool with spa and twin cabanas. It sits on a 3380sq m block. There’s also a home theatre, a gym, wine cellar with bar room and a library. Over the years he has worked at Placer Dome, Emperor Mines, Intrepid Mines and Acacia Mines.
Fox news: penthouse sells
The South Yarra penthouse of developer Michael Fox has sold for $9.12m. Christies International agents Sean Cussell and Natalie Frid sold the apartment. Fox hung on to the apartment, which sits in the 2015-built Central South Yarra block that he built. The 30-level, 367-apartment block was designed by Rothelowman in collaboration with Plus Architecture. The 600sq m penthouse came complete with a fitout by local design firm Mim Design. The iPad-controlled apartment has Sonos speakers in the main rooms, wall-mounted TVs in three bedrooms and keypad entry to the apartment and car park where there is garaging for nine cars. Each of the four bedrooms has its own ensuite and walk-in wardrobes, while the master bedroom ensuite features a steam room. There’s an adults retreat with bar, formal and informal living areas and a pool.
Isle of Capri finds its level
Architect Bayden Goddard’s home on the Gold Coast has been sold for $4.5m after it was listed with a revised $4.9m price tag. It had been listed last year at $5.295m. Designed by the Melbourne-born architect, the Isle of Capri waterfront home was acquired for $3m in 2007 when Goddard and wife Jill bought it from photographer Louise Wolbers. Kollosche Prestige Broadbeach agent Michael Kollosche secured the sale. Spanning 550sq m of living space, the home has five bedrooms, four bathroom, multiple living areas, an alfresco dining pavilion and a 12m pool with separate spa. There is a 27m beach on the 915sq m waterfront parcel. A pontoon is located just off the beach.
