A Neville Gruzman-designed Mosman house on Sydney’s north shore owned by Patrick Robinson, chief executive of Gazal Corp, and his wife Amanda, has just sold for about $11 million. The 6 Ruby Street property on 1056sq m with Harbour Bridge, Opera House and city views was purchased by a local family, who plan to renovate the heritage property, which has six bedrooms, three bathrooms and a three-car garage with a two-bedoom apartment on its own title with private entry. The selling agent was McGrath’s Claudia Portale. The Robinsons paid $3.31 million for the sprawling property, billed as a “mid-century masterpiece”, in 2006.

Selling agent Jon Blaau of JDB Realty is expecting about $12 million for the property which was purchased by the Kelly family back in 1982 for $85,000. Reibycroft was built in 1825 by Mary Reibey, a prominent businesswoman and emancipist whose significant contribution to early colonial history is acknowledged by her face on our $20 note. Blaau reckons the home is one of the oldest homes still privately owned in Australia. It has been fully restored and features three bedrooms and a private lift. The property has controlled security gates leading down a sealed, tree-lined driveway past the horseyards and stables. Reibycroft has three road frontages, four titles and town water. The vendor is Sid Kelly.
