The NSW country estate of the late nine Test Wallaby-turned-property-developer Alan Cardy has hit the market, with property agent Chris Meares expecting interest from the horse industry, lifestylers and retiring farmers. The 210ha farm, known as Lynton, with a 3km frontage to the Wollondilly River, is 6km west of Goulburn, 80km from Canberra, and 210km from Sydney. Meares is expecting $12m-$15m for the property, which features an 1870s renovated five-bedroom stone homestead, an acre of English gardens and a tennis court.

There’s also an original coach house and a formal entrance and driveway as well as two four-bedroom guest cottages. Meares says Lynton can carry up to 400 cattle and earn a good income, but it would also appeal to horse enthusiasts given its impressive equine facilities, including stabling for up to 26 horses. While close to the pricey Southern Highlands, it will not command highland prices, Meares said. Lynton will be auctioned on November 30 through Meares and Clint Donovan of Magic Millions Sales.

Chinese buyer Yuyu Yang has just paid $6.58m buying the fully renovated 9 Denham Place, Toorak, even though marketing agent Max Ruttner of RT Edgar had expected the house to fetch $5.5m-$6m. Ruttner reports there were three bidders on the three-bedroom house, which was purchased by the vendor for $4.8m in 2018 and has since undergone a major renovation. Ruttner says the property sold within two weeks of hitting the market.
