Moffat apartment back on block

Legendary racing driver Allan Moffat and wife Sue McCure are seeking to sell their Toorak apartment again.

Restart for Moffat apartment sale

Legendary racing driver Allan Moffat and wife Sue McCure are seeking to sell their Toorak apartment again. They tried to find a buyer in 2013 when asking $2.495 million just as the Melbourne luxury property price boom began. They’re now expecting $2.9m to $3.19m through Marshall White agents Marcus Chiminello and Anna Perry. Moffat and McCure paid $2.25m for the three-bedroom unit when it was new in 2011. Moffat won the Australian Touring Car Championship four times over his 25-year career. In 2015 Moffat sold his Toorak workshop of 40 years to developers who undertook the Catt Architects-designed Mandeville Lane block.

Tech entrepreneur moves on

Entrepreneur Jordan Grives is selling his Teneriffe apartment in Brisbane, having paid $1.8m for the three-bedroom loft-style apartment just over 12 months ago, shortly before selling his previous apartment nearby. Set in the Winchcombe Carson Woolstore, the top level apartment spans 265sq m and has a library, wet bar, a pool room, rumpus room and a large deck. Ray White New Farm agents Matt Lancashire and Ben Percival have the listing. Grives and his partner Amelia and their two Maltese cross poodles Ari and Coco are renting in New Farm. Grives said they may build something, but will stay in Brisbane. Earlier this year Grives sold Fone Dynamics, the messaging and call analytics company he founded, for about $8.4m. In 2016 he pocketed $30m when he sold his Fonebox enterprise to J2 Global, the Nasdaq-listed American internet services business.

Doohan shifts investment

Former grand prix motorcycle road racing world champion Mick Doohan is selling his Paradise Waters investment property. Doohan has owned the original 1970s home on the pricey Admiralty Drive for nearly three decades, having paid $510,000 back in 1991, shortly after he began his career on the track. The home on 675sq m on the exclusive Jaraparilla Cove has five bedrooms and a north-facing swimming pool. Michael Kollosche and Duncan Longmore at Kollosche Broadbeach have the listing. Doohan, who won five consecutive 500cc world championships, built his current home in Coomera. He also owns a Palm Beach home on Jefferson Lane.

Wests exit holiday home

Western Bulldogs premiership winner Scott West and wife Leshelle have sold their McCrae holiday home for $870,000. The home was listed with an $850,000-$930,000 guide three weeks ago. West built the four-bedroom Edwardian home a year after paying $290,000 for 620sq m not far from McCrae Beach on the Mornington Peninsula. He completed the build in 2007, shortly before he closed the door on a 324-game career at the Dogs. The Wests, including son Rhylee who was drafted to the Bulldogs last year, haven’t got down to the home in years. It has been a rental, fetching $550 a week. Hockingstuart Rosebud agents Grant McConnell and Dino Francese sold the home.
