Melbourne Spring St penthouse draws interest after price drop
A number of heavy hitters are showing major interest in the 42nd floor of Melbourne’s 35 Spring St apartment tower after the asking price was reduced from $28m to $21m-$22m.
A number of heavy hitters are showing major interest in purchasing the 42nd floor of Melbourne’s 35 Spring St apartment tower given the asking price has been substantially reduced from $28m to $21m-$22m through Abercrombys director, Jock Langley.
While Langley, who has just launched a second major marketing blitz on the vast penthouse, was not commenting this week, local sources said the significant “price adjustment” in the three apartments opposite Fitzroy Gardens and spread across the whole floor had attracted major local and interstate interest. The apartments can be purchased in one line, allowing a family and their children and staff to occupy them. The apartments are apparently surplus to the vendor’s needs.
$14m for terrace
Sydney retiree Teah Browne will pocket $14m from the sale of her landmark Potts Point terrace to an undisclosed businessman, who plans to use it when he is visiting Sydney. The 30-32 Victoria St freestanding terrace on 270sq m is presently divided into two strata apartments and includes five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a car space fronting onto Embarkation Park. It last traded in the 1980s, and has views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The vendor was a resident of the upper-level apartment. The sale was negotiated by McGrath’s Adam Regan and Belle Surry Hills agent Ted Pye and Harrison Reynolds. The apartments feature gardens and ponds, and there are balconies, verandas, and small decks off both the apartments capturing some of the views.
Block of flats on offer
Retired business executives Joan and Ivan Cottom are selling an art deco block of flats called Nagari fronting 49 Pacific Highway, Roseville with a price tag of $5.25m. All up, there are eight bedrooms, six bathrooms and four car spaces on 775sq m. Downstairs there is a lavish whole floor apartment, while there are a couple of apartments upstairs. McGrath Wahroonga agent James Sutton is marketing the property, which is near Roseville station. The Cottoms were the purchasers of the landmark former Westpac Bank building in Sydney’s suburban Roseville for $6.7m last October. The Cottoms will no doubt take heart from the fact that, for the first time in 11 months, unit prices have started rising, according to CoreLogic. Sydney recorded the strongest monthly growth in unit values across the capitals with a 1 per cent lift.
