Matt Moran, Bruce Solomon add Clovelly Hotel to pub holdings
Celebrity chef Matt Moran and hotelier Bruce Solomon have added Sydney’s Clovelly Hotel to their pub portfolio.
Celebrity chef Matt Moran and hotelier Bruce Solomon have ramped up their recent run of pub acquisitions by buying the popular Clovelly Hotel on Sydney’s eastern beaches.
In an announcement today, Solotel, the pairs’ joint company, said the Clovelly would join its current portfolio of prime Sydney pubs.
A price was not revealed but the landmark pub, which sits on 1708 square metres with ocean views, attracted a number of bids from onshore buyers.
Solotel also currently owns the Circular Quay Opera Bar, the award-winning Aria Restaurant, The Paddington Inn, The Sheaf at Double Bay and Woollahra’s Chiswick.
The Clovelly Hotel was offloaded by Iris Capital, headed by Sam Arnaout, who is currently participating in the Newcastle central business district redevelopment.
The pub - popularly known as The Cloey - was marketed by CBRE’s Daniel Dragicevich and Ray White Hotels Australia’s Andrew Joliffe.
