Luxe Listings star Gavin Rubinstein has 25 roles for super sales agents
He’s one of the faces of top-end Sydney property and now, armed with a new Rose Bay office, Luxe Listings’ Gavin Rubinstein says he needs a swag of sales staff pronto.
Sitting comfortably in his new Rose Bay office with a successful near $15m in-house auction complete, one of the stars of TV show Luxe Listings Sydney is on the hunt to find 25 proteges.
He’s targeting agents who would like a stint at selling in the ultra-wealthy end of the Sydney homes market, those who want to sell a slice of luxury by the harbour or a little closer to the city in some sought-after areas.
The new roles have opened in the offices of Sydney agent Gavin Rubinstein, one of four local real estate and buyers’ agents who starred in the three-season reality TV show, which first went to air in July 2021.
Mr Rubinstein, whose offices trade as TRG under the White Family Group, opened his second location four weeks ago.
TRG had been keeping quiet about the much-anticipated new place, just 170m from the beach in Rose Bay, until the group held its first in-house auction this month.
The auction space is three meeting rooms any other day but they can be converted into a larger auction floor.
Homes are sold exclusively under the hammer of well-known Sydney auctioneer Damien Cooley.
Mr Rubinstein said he would be opening up the office to the public later this year. TRG is gearing up for a major party in November, and the owners of some of Sydney’s plushest homes will be invited.
“The intention is to wait for the weather to get a little bit warmer, and then we’re going to throw a big kind of welcome party,” he said.
“It’s going to be very, very exciting and there’ll be some very cool acts. The intention is for me to invite every client who has essentially supported this journey of mine over the course of the last 15 years, as a way to give back.”
Guests will get a tour of the new place which, he said, takes much of its inspiration from the homes TRG sells, and also makes a few references to his travels.
“From all the hotels and shops I’ve visited and my experiences, I always like to pick up little bits of inspiration,” he told Mansion.
As to the positions he wants to fill, a little over half will be at the headquarters while the rest will be in the original space.
“I’ve got about 15 seats left in Rose Bay for agents who want to sell harbourside. With the move, I’ve got about 10 spaces in Woollahra for agents who want to focus on selling in Woollahra, Paddington and the inner city area,” Mr Rubinstein said.
They’ll join recent hires Matthew Ettia, from Biller Property, and Chrissie Ren, from Chadwick’s, who is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
“With everything else I’m doing, I actually haven’t had time to proactively recruit but in the coming six to 12 months I’m going to be looking for the right people,” he said.
As to what the right agent looked like, it was someone with “high-level work ethic and a focus on progression”.
“For myself and my agents, we want to be better today than we were yesterday and we’re always learning,” Mr Rubinstein said.
