Leon Kamenev of Menulog has Woollahra Council date on menu
Millionaire Menulog founder Leon Kamenev is headed back to the Land & Environment Court over his Sydney mansion plans.
Millionaire Menulog founder Leon Kamenev is headed back to the Land & Environment Court after suffering another refusal at the hands of Woollahra Council over his plans for Coolong Road, Vaucluse, an amalgamated Sydney harbourfront site he bought for about $80 million in 2016. After refusing his first French-style chateau proposal, Woollahra Council has deemed the Ukrainian-born Kamenev’s more contemporary second design will obstruct public views of Sydney Harbour, recommending he lower the building height by more than two metres. The council is also concerned the mature height of multiple proposed trees and palms to the front and side of the development are excessive. As it states, “planting must not be used to block views.” Kamenev’s appeal will be heard in the Land & Environment Court come May 8 and 9.
One healthy Victorian
Retail entrepreneur Dione Hart, owner of Pacifique, a resort wear shop in the Cook Islands, and online gift store hart & heim, is selling her Victorian Waterloo terrace with price expectations of $1.275m. Hart bought the two-storey Elizabeth Street terrace for $835,000 in 2011, originally acquiring it for its healthy $1000-a-week rental returns, but after three years renovating and with a four-year-old son in tow, Hart and husband Walter Heim have opted for a sea-change. The circa 1890s terrace has three bedrooms, one bathroom and a car space. The selling agents are Leon Parker and Con Fotaras, of Belle Property Surry Hills. The property will be auctioned on May 12.
