High-profile Sydney agent Bethwyn Richards has listed her Randwick mansion, St Ives, with a price guide of about $10m. Richards, a property partner with The Agency, is downsizing after purchasing the Higgs St house for $3.4m in 2009.
Positioned on a large 1105sq m site in Sydney’s prestigious eastern suburbs near Coogee beach, the house, replete with views across the Pacific out to Wedding Cake Island, will be auctioned on May 11 through The Agency.
Given its size, St Ives is billed as a family mansion, with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, landscaped gardens, a swimming pool, outdoor shower and space for four cars. Features include a separate pool cabana, lavish dining terrace and tiered rear gardens. Richards is the listing agent for the property, along with her co-agent, Sotheby’s James Ball.
Alexander reduces price
The Southern Highlands, which takes in Moss Vale, Bowral, Mittagong and the upmarket Kangaloon, is home to a number of celebrities including media, entertainment and sporting personalities, such as former tennis ace and former federal politician John Alexander.
Alexander listed his long-held property Iona Park with $10m to $11m hopes last year. He has now reduced the price guide to $8.8m to $9.2m through Bradley Cocks and Kate McCullagh of Di Jones as he is looking to downsize. Cocks says to date there’s been a lot of interest from locals and Sydney-siders. “We will do more international marketing now too via DiJones and Sothebys,” Cocks says. The 4
0ha estate carries 20 head of cattle and 15 horses, and comes with a luxury homestead.
Opportunity in Byron
A lavish estate in the heart of Byron Bay’s golden grid has hit the market with a price guide of $8m. Farm machinery entrepreneurs Craig and Andie Maber, who own PFG Australia, which also operates in New Zealand and the US, have listed 60 Kingsley St, Byron Bay for sale through McGrath Byron Bay agent Nick Dunn. The property, on a 1012sq m level site, is near the beach and Byron village. The six-bedroom house has four bathrooms, and there is also a self-contained studio.
Gold Coast life at the top
The penthouse atop the Gold Coast’s 30-level Carmel by the Sea high-rise has hit the market for the first time in two decades. The 900sq m unit with views stretching from Main Beach to Coolangatta apparently features one of the Goldie’s best private rooftop pools. To be auctioned on May 8, the penthouse has five bedrooms and five bathrooms while the crystal Swarovski chandeliers and imported Italian marble floors give it a European feel. The property is being marketed by Ray White Burleigh Group agents, Elly Malan and Rachael Crompton. Also on the Gold Coast, a historic Southport estate has been listed as being the legacy of the late neurologist John Corbett and his family. Surrey House is a colonial-style homestead on 3622sq m fronting 76 Pohlman St. Ray White Surfers Paradise chairman Andrew Bell says: “This is opulent living on a scale rarely seen on the Gold Coast.”
