Australian businessman Graeme Samuel is selling his Toorak holding. The now Brighton-based former consumer rights chief is seeking $8 million-$8.4m for the single-level home created by building designer Kim Andrews and John McNamara. Set in 855sq m of landscaped gardens by Jane Jones, the home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms under its slate roof. A pool sits in the grounds. Kay & Burton agents Ross Savas and Darren Lewenberg have the listing. Samuel paid $3.05m in 2007 before its full-scale renovation. It was owned in the 1970s by media executive David Evans, who sold his nearby home, Koonda, last month.

South Yarra prices sinking

Prices are going backwards on South Yarra’s Fawkner Street, where a new home development site was passed in on a $2.5m vendor bid last Saturday, having traded for $2.6m in 2017. The 1980s three-bedroom home on 335sq m has approvals secured by the Lumiere Group’s Greg Adshead and Nathan Foley. It’s for a design by Megowan Architectural intended to sit in gardens landscaped by Jack Merlo.RT Edgar agent Mark Wridgway was signalling price expectations of $2.4m-$2.5m in pre-auction guidance, with a $2.65m reserve revealed post-auction. Wridgway’s lengthy onsite auction spiel mentioned everything except the overnight shooting murder in nearby Fawkner Park. The auction attracted Marshall White agent Marcus Chiminello, who has a nearby listing. It is the home of the Sitch family, who have it back for sale with a $4m-$4.4m guide, just eight months after they paid $4.571m for the home marketed as South Yarra’s finest single-level Victorian heritage home.

The open-plan beachfront apartment has a beach-facing balcony with views across Bulcock Beach to Bribie Island. REMAX Caloundra agent Lachlan Anderson has the listing for Langer, who is on the coaching panel at the Brisbane Broncos along with the Australian national team.
