Buyer of Russell Crowe’s Darlinghurst property revealed
Rodney Adler’s brother-in-law, Greg Shand, was the mystery buyer of Russell Crowe’s Darlinghust office space and gym.
Rodney Adler’s brother in law, developer Greg Shand, was the mystery buyer of Russell Crowe’s Darlinghust office space and boutique gym, paying about $17 million to the Hollywood actor. Crowe paid $5.05m for the inner city property in 2003 but sold it as part of his divorce settlement from Danielle Spencer earlier this month. Shand won’t comment on the sale, which was negotiated by McGrath agent William Manning. But public records show he has set up a $2 company called 98 Riley Pty Ltd with his wife Kathy Shand, Mr Adler’s sister, who declined to comment. Meanwhile, Crowe looks certain to retain his 1000sq m Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf apartment, which he pulled off the market over Christmas. He had been expecting it to sell for about $30m.
