High-profile Brisbane property developer Don O’Rorke will rent out one of the Sunshine State’s most exclusive city apartments: a one-bedder in Queen St’s Spire Residences tower with a $400,000 interior fit-out cost.

It is billed as the $1m apartment and costs an average $1000 a night to rent out, allowing guests to enjoy a new level of design excellence in the architectural award-winning tower in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD.

The apartment promises an unforgettable stay, according to its owner, Consolidated Properties Group chairman and chief executive officer Don O’Rorke.

Also known as the Chairman’s Pied-à-Terre, the apartment is a one-off creation by Australian Institute of Architects’ 2020 gold medal-winning architect John Wardle.

Every detail of the apartment reflects Mr Wardle’s visionary approach to design, with Mr O’Rorke spending more than $400,000 on top of the build costs, including converting what was a two-bedder to a single bedroom.

Mr O’Rorke gave the architect no budget or design restrictions.

Mr Wardle created a living space that exudes elegance, sophistication, and comfort. He reimagined the entire floorplan, with every finish, detail, and facet of the space reconsidered.

The apartment is fully furnished with high-end amenities, offering a home away from home for travellers seeking the pinnacle of luxury.

Standing in one of Brisbane’s most coveted locations, Spire Residences offers guests at the Chairman’s Pied-à-Terre unparalleled access to the city’s dining and iconic landmarks.

Nestled amid the hustle and bustle of the Brisbane CBD and within a five-minute walk of Howard Smith Wharves, the luxurious retreat provides a tranquil escape from the urban excitement while keeping it all within arm’s reach.

Mr O’Rorke said he was excited to offer this unique opportunity for people to experience Brisbane like never before.

“The Chairman’s Pied-à-Terre” stands as a testament to John Wardle’s ability to reimagine spaces and create a unique living experience that sets it apart from any other accommodation in Brisbane’s CBD,” he said.

“The decision to reduce the apartment from two bedrooms to one was a bold move that allowed for a more spacious, open, and luxurious living area.

“The result is an inviting retreat and an atmosphere of refined elegance, where guests can unwind and relish their surroundings.”

The apartment on level 38 of the 40- storey building has one car park, an ensuite and a powder room, and can host a dinner party for six. Rooftop facilities include a heated infinity-edge swimming pool and a gymnasium.

The apartment is available for rent on Airbnb.
