Queensland developer Marquee Development Partners has launched a long-awaited luxury apartment project on a beachfront site on the southern Gold Coast.

La Belle Palm Beach, on the Gold Coast’s largest remaining absolute beachfront site, which was previously owned by world motorcycle champion Mick Doohan, will feature 74 beachfront apartments over 14 levels with views from Surfers Paradise to Coolangatta.

The project is situated on a 3300sq m site with 40m of beach frontage, and will comprise three, four and five-bedroom units with living spaces ranging from 150sq m to 680sq m. The project is pitched at the Gold Coast’s owner-occupier buyers.

Marquee is also developing five double-storey beach homes on the site offering up to a 388sq m of living space. Apartments will be priced from $2.15m.

“Palm Beach has emerged as one of the Gold Coast’s most sought-after markets and La Belle … has been designed to meet sustained demand for premium residences on the southern Gold Coast,” Marquee Development Partners director Jacques Winterburn said in a statement.

“We’re taking full advantage of this extremely rare site to create a residential masterpiece that not only meets the needs of discerning buyers, but also remains true to the spirit that sets the southern Gold Coast apart.”

Mr Winterburn said La Belle Palm Beach was the developer’s 11th project on the Gold Coast, with Marquee having completed seven projects, while a further three more were sold out or under way.

“We’re excited to be presenting another development that we know will resonate with owner-occupiers, as well as people seeking a holiday home,” he said.

The Palm Beach development comes on the heels of a sellout of the company’s latest Gold Coast project, the $126m Monterey Kirra Beach, which is earmarked for one of the last remaining beachfront sites at Kirra.

Apartments at Monterey sold for an average of $5.79m during the past three months.

Marquee has already fielded inquiries from local downsizers and interstate buyers for La Belle Palm Beach ahead of the project’s official launch.

“The interest in this site and this project has been quite amazing, with many inquiries coming from several buyers who have purchased in our earlier projects,” said Azura Griffen, sales manager at Marquee Development Partners.

“We are seeing demand for our products holding up extremely well, especially for beachfront apartments where we know there is an acute shortage of supply.

“Quite simply, this is the largest absolute beachfront project on the Gold Coast and we have designed a boutique tower around the scale of the site with a range of well-considered lifestyle amenities within the building to suit owner-occupiers.”

Designed by award-winning Cottee Parker Architects and detailed by BDA Architecture, the development will offer a diverse range of amenities, including a heated outdoor pool and spa, multiple teppanyaki dining bars and entertaining areas, and a residents lounge with a billiard room, bar and a large-screen TV.

La Belle Palm Beach will also feature a wellness centre with a gymnasium, yoga and pilates movement room, Nordic and infrared saunas, indoor hydrotherapy hot pool and two cold plunge baths.

Additionally, a hotel-style lobby with arrival lounge and private offices will satisfy work-from-home needs.

La Belle Palm Beach is located at 332 The Esplanade in the North Palm Beach area. It is positioned between the retail and dining precincts of Palm Beach and Burleigh Heads.

Marquee is expected start to construction for La Belle Palm Beach in July.
