Sporting a formal lounge which can do double time as a dance floor, one of Strathfield’s grand landmark mansions, fronting 67-69 The Boulevarde, has hit the market with price expectations of $4m-$4.5m through Richardson & Wrench agent Chris Virgona.

Once held by the Zammit family, the five-bedroom property built in 1926 is in authentic original condition and is being sold as a deceased estate.

Set on a 1088squ m block, the house needs considerable work including a full renovation of its two bathrooms and kitchen.

Apart from the five upstairs bedrooms, there’s also a nursery off the master bedroom which could be converted into a lavish walk-in closet. The house, in the heart of Sydney’s booming inner west, was being auctioned on site on Saturday afternoon.

Elegant family residence

One of Toorak’s most elegant mansions fronting 4 Huntingfield Rd has hit the market with price expectations of $9m-$9.9m. The six-bedroom 1930s family residence is being sold by gastroentologist Han Ter according to title deeds.

Designed by Arnaud Wright it has six bedrooms and is set on 1050sq m block with a 25m frontage. The entrance is via classically styled gates, through a long driveway surrounded by private greenery towards the entrance of the home beneath a porte cochere.

The owners, who paid $4.762m for the house in 2008, plan to downsize to Albert Park. An expressions of interest campaign closes on May 23. RT Edgar marketing agent Max Ruttner said a number of wealthy private families had already inspected the property. “Ultimately I expect the buyer will be a younger professional couple who are most likely to have a growing family,” Mr Ruttner said, adding there had been some interest from Sydneysiders as well.

Corner the market

Architect Marios Alexandrou and wife Georgina Alexandrou, a special counsel at Corrs Chambers Westgarth Brisbane, have listed their 1935-built house in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo for auction on May 15. Built on a 1611sq m corner block fronting 14 Verry St, the property has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. McGrath Bulimba agent Ben Cannon says there are plans approved for significant expansions. Core Logic documents reveal Ms Alexandrou paid $2m for the property in mid 2018.

Harbour frontage

Eliza Yi Wah Fok, wife of wealthy Hong Kong business executive Canning Fok Kin-ning, has listed her three-level Vaucluse mansion with price expectations of $41m-$45m through Highland Property. The Harbourside house occupies an 885sq m block fronting 13 Queens Ave, Vaucluse. It was purchased for $23.5m in 2010. No doubt the couple were attracted to the almost 30m of harbour frontage.

The property has a massage room, home cinema, five bedrooms, heated pool and four bathrooms. Most rooms have a view of either the Harbour Bridge, Opera House or Rose Bay. The house has a private lift as well as heated marble and stone flooring. It has direct access to Hermitage Reserve and Milk Beach.
