Billionaire Arthur Laundy says he is on the hunt for more pubs in the booming NSW North Coast area around Byron Bay.
Fresh from his second hospitality acquisition in the past few months, billionaire Arthur Laundy says he is on the hunt for more pubs in the booming NSW North Coast area around Byron Bay.
“We are always in the market for something,” says Laundy, who has just forked out more than $40m for the Lennox Hotel. Late last year, Laundy bought The Farm, Byron Bay, a 32ha working farm, with one of his several business partners, Fraser Short, paying about $16m.
A tidy profit
Ex-Suncorp boss Michael Cameron has pocketed around $11m from the sale of his two-level penthouse apartment at Sydney’s Pier one, having purchased the 19 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay property for $5.7m in 2014. The buyers were Novocastrians Rowena and Wayne Hamilton, who came to national prominence when along with hundreds of other guests and crew were stranded on the Greg Mortimer expedition ship off the Uruguay coast last year after a crew member tested positive for COVID-19. The late December sale of the three-bedroom and two-bathroom apartment covering 226sq m facing the Harbour Bridge was handled by Richard Shalhoub, of McGrath, and Adam Ross,of Knight Frank. Meanwhile, Aussie Home Loans chief executive James Symonds is also selling in the complex with price expectations of $16m for his amalgamated apartment.
