Acclaimed architect Rob Mills is selling two prized city and coastal houses as he pursues an ambitious expansion of his practice.

Acclaimed architect Rob Mills is selling two prized city and coastal houses as he pursues an ambitious expansion of his practice, Rob Mills Architecture & Interiors on the East Coast. Mills, who has long split his time between Melbourne and Sydney, has placed his Armadale Residence in Melbourne on the market which is expected to fetch between $8.8m and $9.4m through Kay & Burton agents Ross Savas, Andrew Sa hhar and Jamie Mi. Just outside Melbourne, Mills has also listed his three-level Ocean House in seaside Lorne through Ian Stewart at Great Ocean Road Real Estate. Expressions of interest are being sought on both properties.

“By listing two of my own residences simultaneously, I am giving people the rare opportunity to experience the RMA quality and the breadth of homes we create. I sincerely look forward to both homes entering a new chapter of their lives,” said Mills in a statement. From its Melbourne base, RMA is opening a new Sydney office and a satellite office in Noosa Heads.

Classy north shore pad for sale

Teachers Tony Gunton of Sydney’s Cranbrook and his wife Liz, once a teacher at Kambala, Cranbrook and Wenona Junior schools, are retiring to Mollymook on the NSW south coast and have listed their house in Longueville on Sydney’s north shore for about $2.75m. The pair have occupied the William Edward Street property for 27 years and are auctioning it on November 28 though Belle Property Lane Cove’s Simon Harrison and James Bennett. The four-bedroom house features two bathrooms and soaring period ceilings. It sports a top floor master suite.

Five-bedder mansion opportunity

Another prestigious blue-chip Melbourne mansion has hit the market with a two-level Mediterranean property fronting 39 Irving Road, Toorak up for grabs with price expectations of $35m-$38m. After 22 years’ ownership, Melburnian Sally Lindsay has listed the five bedroom mansion, known as Chiverton, via an expression of interest campaign closing December 8. Kay & Burton agent Mike Gibson is marketing the mansion which is set on a large 3150sq m parcel. Lindsay purchased it back in 1997 for just $3.75m. Gibson expects the buyer will be a local Toorak family.

Beauty in the northern beaches

Pharmacist Joe Santarosa and his wife Rosetta are selling one of Clontarf’s prized homes in Gordon Street after building it 15 years ago. The price guide for the northern beaches Sydney house with spectacular harbour views is $6.95m through Ray White Seaforth principal Mark Griffiths. Gated from the street, the house has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and parking for six cars. The Santarosas are downsizing.
