Sydney-based Chinese entrepreneurs are developing an online platform — named Grei — to give investors in China new tools to increase their wealth, including by connecting them with Australian business leaders.

The site, which has already reached about 300,000 Chinese speakers there and in Australia, features stories from real estate royalty such as Harry Triguboff and William Deague.

It was established by Philip Peng, who previously worked for Huawei’s project management team in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and by Joseph Chou, co-founder of Sydney property investment company The Ironfish Group.

The site, which is available as a mobile app, and which is planning an English language version, attracts revenue from two streams. It lists service providers for annual fees ranging from $2500 to $10,000 — so far totalling 25. And it charges users for “premium content”.

“The platform provides a network of trusted and recommended service providers including in financial planning, in real estate, in accounting, and in legal advice,” Mr Peng said.

Grei would be a one-stop wealth shop, combining advice and market places, and has raised $7 million. It plans to expand into the US and Britain.
