Palmer company ordered to pay $17.6 million

Clive Palmer’s flagship company Mineralogy ordered to pay $US17.6m to a Singaporean company for underwater gas survey works.

Clive Palmer has suffered a significant legal loss, after his flagship company Mineralogy was ordered to pay $US17.6m to a Singaporean company for underwater gas survey works.

Queensland Supreme Court judge David Jackson this morning ruled against Mr Palmer’s Mineralogy, which had argued it should not have to pay the bill for work done for Mr Palmer in the Gulf of Papua in 2011.

Justice Jackson dismissed Mineralogy’s claim and granted BGP’s counter-claim, ordering Mineralogy pay $US17,629,673.83.

A lawyer for Mr Palmer indicated he would consider an appeal of the judgement, which is separate to the 20 cases sparked by Mr Palmer’s Queensland Nickel collapse last year.

More to come.
