It appears Sydney interior designer Jack Freeman is having issues on land and at sea.

Not only is the high-flying gallerist – who burst on to the scene as an 18-year-old laying rugs for the richest of the rich – fresh off embarrassing himself on reality television show Below Deck Med, Margin Call hears Charles Fairfax of the publishing family intends to make a claim against Freeman for $1.1m.

And we hear that’s not where it ends for Freeman’s troubles on home shores, with an angry customer in Fairfax and angrier Freeman & Co staff pouncing on his return from Euro summer a few months back.

“The wild thing is that at the same time he was posting photos of his new G wagon and being on a private plane in Europe, he told his staff he needed to give them a 30 per cent salary cut,” a source told Margin Call.

What would have irked staff further would have been watching his appearance on the hit reality franchise. The show follows the crew of a luxury yacht hired by the rich and famous sailing in the – checks notes – Mediterranean.

In the latest episode, Freeman acts out his guest-from-hell dreams, playing it up for the cameras, dancing like a buffoon and demanding szechuan chicken at midnight.

It must be seen to be believed, if you can hold your espresso martinis down. Dressed in all white with an undoubtedly expensive sweater draped over both shoulders, he licks caviar off his hand before succumbing to what must be uncertain sea legs, doing some sort of dance which looks like a mix of dry humping and vomiting violently.

Then, after requesting the midnight meal, Freeman passed out before the hapless interior crew could return with his snack.

To make matters worse, the promo would seem to indicate Mr Freeman returns for a second episode to free himself from the confines of the yacht and … goes overboard. The puns are too easy.

In a stunning piece of news for someone who obviously hates the limelight, this is not Mr Freeman’s first Below Deck experience, after featuring as a – checks notes again – guest from hell in the Australian version of the show, Below Deck Down Under.

The “Sydney socialite” requests pina coladas made from chocolate and for one of the deckhands to breathe in his ear.

Margin Call hears Freeman is back in town, where he can act out his Bravo dreams caviar bumping through the eastern suburbs.
