What are the three enduring lessons or changes to flow from COVID-19?

We need resilient supply chains, we need to support investment in our sovereign capabilities and we need to diversify end markets for our products.

How would you rate the shape of the Australian economy as we head into the new year?

I’m confident we’ll see some further recovery in domestic demand, however I think there is a question mark hanging over global markets.

What three reforms are needed to sustainably grow the economy?

We need to grow our regional communities and agriculture can be a springboard for this.

What are the three best growth opportunities for your company in 2021?

Turnaround from improved seasonal conditions in key global agricultural markets.

Internal performance improvement.

Commercialisation of our proprietary omega-3 canola oil.

What impact will digital transformation have on your company?

It’s already changing the way we interact with, and market to, our customers and over time it will support better product stewardship programs too.

It’s also the foundation for precision agriculture, which will improve the efficiency and sustainability of modern agriculture and that will create new opportunities for how we work with our customers.

How would you rate business, state and federal government performance this year?

There’s been a tremendous collective effort in extraordinary circumstances.
