ANZ-Roy Morgan confidence slips from five-year high
The consumer confidence index has slipped from its five-year high but remains above average.
Consumer confidence has fallen, partly backtracking over the previous week’s rise but it remains well above normal.
The ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence index fell back to 117.9, from a five-week high of 120.6, to stay comfortably above the post-1990 average of 112.8.
“A strong housing market and ongoing improvement in the labour market are key factors here,” ANZ head of Australian economics Felicity Emmett said.
