UBS Australia appoints Lindsay Maxsted as non-executive chairman
Lindsay Maxsted has been appointed non executive chairman of UBS Australasia.
Mr Maxsted was formerly a partner at KPMG between 1984 and 2008.
He practised in the area of corporate restructurings, turnarounds, insolvencies including leading or jointly leading some of Australia’s largest engagements in that area such as International Harvester, Linter Textiles, Bond Brewing, Bell Publishing Group and McEwans Hardware.
He served as chief executive and National Managing Partner of KPMG Australia from 1 January 2001 to 31 December 2007.
Post KPMG, Mr Maxsted has held a number of non-executive director roles on ASX20 companies including Westpac Banking Corporation from 2008-2020 and as Chairman from 2011-2020, as a non-exercise director of Transurban Group between 2008 and 2022 and as chairman 2010 between 2010 and 2022.
He was a non-executive director of BHP from 2011 to 2020.
Mr Maxsted is currently a senior advisor to Tanarra Group, Co-Chairman of Tanarra Restructuring Partners, Chairman of the Grattan Institute and Chairman of Coolmore Australia.
