UBS has lured longstanding JPMorgan analyst Shaun Cousins to lead its retail and consumer research coverage, as it seeks to plug key gaps in its team.
Sources said Mr Cousins – who was rated a top analyst in the latest Peter Lee survey – would join UBS in July. He replaces Ben Gilbert who decamped to Jarden.
Jarden and fellow newcomer to the local market Barrenjoey have been on respective hiring sprees, picking up research analysts and investment bankers as they seek to expand.
UBS has been a key poaching ground for both firms, given they are led by former senior UBS staff.
Mr Cousins joined JPMorgan almost 20 years ago, according to LinkedIn.
