Morrison & Co has placed a 50 per cent stake in the Macarthur Wind Farm up for sale with the asset expected to sell for between $800m and $900m.
Expressions of interest are due on September 17 in a sales process run through ICA Partners.
Parties that are expected to compete for the asset are mid-tier infrastructure funds such as Cbus, Host Plus, Palisade Investment Partners and ICG.
AMP Capital owns the remaining half of the asset, buying the stake from Malakoff in 2019 for $880m.
Palisade and ICG were under bidders that time around.
The Macarthur Wind Farm comprises 140 wind turbines in Macarthur in Victoria’s Western District, and is described as the largest wind farm in the southern hemisphere. It generates enough power for 220,000 homes.
It sits on a 5500ha site that has installed capacity of 420MW.
Meridian sold its stake in the wind farm to Malaysian power company Malakoff for $650m in 2013.
AGL announced a sale of its 50 per cent interest to Morrison in 2015 for $532m.
On a multiple per megawatt basis, the deal equates to more than $4m per megawatt.
Energy generated from the wind farm, which started operating in 2013, is fully contracted to AGL under a fixed price contract until 2038.

The not-for-profit St John of God Health Care has discussed with Healthco Healthcare and Wellness REIT taking over some real estate leases from tenant Healthscope.
