Former Ashurst partner Jason Salman, who has led a number of high profile restructuring deals, has joined rival law firm Mills Oakley as a partner.
He started in the job last month.
Based in Perth, Mr Salman specialises in complex financial restructurings, recapitalisations, pre-packaged restructurings, private credit and distressed debt situations and consensual workouts, with 27 years of industry experiences both here and abroad.
He will lead the national restructuring and insolvency practice.
Mills Oakley also hired energy, resources and infrastructure lawyers Sarah Pick, who joins from MinterEllison and would work as a partner based in Adelaide, and Yannis Vrodos, who joins as partner from Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer and is based in Perth.
Mills Oakley is an Australian commercial law firm with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Perth, Adelaide and Darwin.
It has 170 partners and more than 700 staff.
Founded in Melbourne in 1864, it represents clients that include S&P / ASX200 listed companies, government departments and agencies, private companies, financial services and individuals.
The firm has been ranked as a Top 10 Australian legal partnership by size, and was named Law Firm of the Year at the Australasian Law Awards in 2017.
