Kohlberg Kravis Roberts recruits IFM’s Nicholas Hyde

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has appointed IFM Investors director Nicholas Hyde to the role of managing director to lead its Client Partner Group in Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Hyde will be based in Sydney for the global private equity firm and will be responsible for managing and expanding KKR’s client relationships in Australia and New Zealand, raising capital for the firm’s private and public markets strategies and leading new business development for the region.

KKR said in a statement that Mr Hyde will work closely with members of KKR’s senior team in Australia and in the region, including its Australian head Scott Bookmyer and head of its Client and Partner Group in the Asia Pacific and regional capital markets business, Diane Raposio.

At IFM, Mr Hyde was a director responsible for leading new business development to institutional accounts in Australia, New Zealand and Asia across products spanning private equity, infrastructure, debt and alternative investments.

Before working at IFM, Mr Hyde was a managing director of institutional business development at Wellington Management in Sydney.

He has also held senior roles at investment banks including Deutsche, Citi and JPMorgan in London, New York and Sydney.

Other recent senior appointments at KKR include Ben Hall, managing director and head of credit for KKR Australia, and KKR Infrastructure director Andrew Jennings.

KKR has been investing in Australia since 2006 and has committed more than $9bn of equity to companies across asset classes.

Its current investments in Australia include Arnott’s, The Australian Venue Company, Findex, GenesisCare, Laser Clinics Australia, Latitude Financial Services, MYOB and Pepper Group.
