JPMorgan reshuffles equity markets team leadership
JPMorgan has named Simone Haslinger and Jonas Troeber as co-heads of its equity capital markets operation for Australia and New Zealand.
The move follows the departure of its co-head of investment banking for Australia and New Zealand Jabe Jerram and regional ECM head Dyson Bowditch to Barrenjoey Capital Partners.
Other more junior staff at JPMorgan have also recently jumped ship to Barrenjoey.
Ms Haslinger joined JPMorgan in 2010 and has more than 16 years’ experience in ECM.
She has led transactions for a broad range of issuers and vendors in raising over $70bn of equity and equity-linked capital in the Australian market.
Mr Troeber joined JPMorgan in 2020 as head of syndicate, Australia and New Zealand and has since been involved with major transactions at the firm.
Before joining JPMorgan, he worked at Morgan Stanley for 14 years in Australia and Hong Kong managing large equity transactions in the Asia Pacific, raising more than $100 billion.
Mr Jerram and Mr Bowditch will become co-heads of equity capital markets at Barrenjoey and are due to start around May.
Late last year, Barrenjoey hired JPMorgan’s Australian head of real estate banking Rob Stanton and managing director Anthony Brasher, who headed the financial institutions banking arm.
It has poached Australia’s most dominant block trader, George Kanaan from UBS, along with its Australian head of infrastructure banking Jarrod Key and his team members, and telecommunications and media banker Peter Nelson.
More departures from staff at JPMorgan and UBS heading to Barrenjoey Capital are expected, say market sources.
