Wall Street bank JPMorgan has hired Dragi Ristevski from Macquarie Capital to become its co-head of general industrials and head of financial sponsors for Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Ristevski is a managing director with over 25 years of advisory experience in the Australian market, JPMorgan said.
Most recently, he was head of financial sponsors for Macquarie Capital.
Prior to this, he held senior coverage roles at Credit Suisse and Citi covering general industrials and financial sponsors.
He will be based in Sydney, reporting to JPMorgan’s Australia and New Zealand head of investment banking Julian Peck, and is expected to start with JPMorgan in the middle of the year.
He will work alongside Seth Schwartz, co-head of general industrials in Melbourne, to spearhead the bank’s industrials coverage and expand the business.
He will work closely with Cameron Nicholls in his existing role to deepen coverage of financial sponsors, and Sydney-based general consumer, retail, and other industrials, JPMorgan said.
It comes after only two years after Mr Ristevski joined Macquarie from Credit Suisse Australia after the bank was swallowed by its Swiss rival, UBS.
Before working at Credit Suisse, Mr Ristevski worked for 11 years at Citi where he led the general industrials and financial sponsors team.
The appointment comes after JPMorgan’s Australia and New Zealand equity capital markets head, Jonas Troeber, moves to Hong Kong in June, to be replaced by RBC banker Justin Grimmond.
