Goldman Sachs has announced the appointment of Ian Taylor as its head of equity capital markets.

It comes after the appointment was first flagged by DataRoom.

Goldman Sachs also announced Aaron Lamshed would become Head of Syndicate.

Mr Taylor will be returning to Australia from North America where he held several ECM leadership roles within the firm.

These include head of US real estate, lodging and gaming ECM in 2015 and later head of Canadian ECM.

He had been based in New York from December, where he was part of the leadership of a fintech-focused merchant bank.

Other roles include head of Latin America (ex-Brazil) ECM from 2011 to 2014

Meanwhile, Mr Lamshed joined the Goldman Sachs Australia and New Zealand ECM team in 2014 as an executive director, based in Sydney after working at CIMB.

In his new role as head of Syndicate, Mr Lamshed will oversee pricing and allocation of our ECM transactions, in addition to retaining his existing ECM origination and execution responsibilities.
