Hony Capital lifts Santos stake
Hony Capital is buying an additional 2.3 per cent of Santos through investment bank Citi.
The acquisition, at a price of $3.84 per share, happened after the market closed on Wednesday and will take its current holding from 12.8 per cent to 15.1 per cent.
It comes after Hony Capital’s stake was diluted last year when Santos embarked on a capital raising. The latest acquisition will mean its holding moves back to what it initially was prior to the raise.
Santos shares closed up 7c to $3.63.
