Former UBS banker, Aspen boss and Stockland executive Clem Salwin is believed to have landed a top executive role at Westfield shopping centre owner Scentre.
It is understood he will assist in leading the strategic direction of the group.
Salwin has most recently worked at Stockland,
Between 2021 and mid-2022 he ran its retirement living division, which was sold to EQT for $987m.
He then moved to the role of general manager of commercial and corporate transactions for Stockland.
He was also understood to be one of the early candidates considered for the role of running GPT.
Salwin also worked at Valad Property in the wake of the Global Financial Crisis around 2011, helping a company that had come close to collapse recover and restructure before it was broken up and sold off.
In April, Scentre announced the departure of its chair Brian Schwartz.
The shopping mall owner’s former chief executive Peter Allen was replaced last year by Elliott Rusanow, who joined as chief financial officer in 2019.
In May, the $14bn company reaffirmed its funds from operations guidance for the 2023 financial year of 20.75c to 21.25c per security.
That was up 3.4 to 5.9 per cent for the year.
