Citi promotes staff to the rank of Managing Director

Investment bank Citi has promoted five banking staff to the rank of managing director across Australia and New Zealand.

The promotions are among 344 globally, up from 304 last year, with managing director one of the most senior titles to hold in the ranks of investment banking.

Among those promoted are Kirstin Renner, head of treasury and trade solutions services, Alex Syhanath, who is the head of commercial bank, banking, Simon Marrison, head of financial sponsors, capital markets and advisory and Howard Ilderton, Asia Pacific head of prime product, APAC co-head of Delta One Swap, Australia head of prime markets.

Also promoted to managing director is Peter Hext, head of asset backed securitisation and financing, markets, who was appointed to the role in 2024.
