Catalyst offloads stake in candle seller Dusk

Catalyst Investment Managers has offloaded a 7.2 per cent interest in candles retailer Dusk Group after it embarked on an initial public offering last year.

The private equity firm sold shares at $3.60 each.

Barrenjoey Capital Partners advised on the transaction that unfolded late Friday.

The trade was valued at $16 million, with shares sold at a 6 per cent discount to the last close.

Catalyst had a 23 per cent stake after listing the business and the remaining shares are subject to an escrow arrangement.

Dusk floated at $2 a share and the stock was sold down after shares hit a record of $3.90 last week.

Shares on Monday morning were trading at $3.83.
