Investment banker and former building materials and industrial company analyst Emily Smith has left Deutsche Bank following the announcement by the German financial that it would shut its international equities operations.
It is understood that Ms Smith, who is highly regarded in her field, was assessing her next move following the departure and has had various approaches for new roles.
Most recently, her title was general industrials director, a role she has held for more than one year.
Prior to that, she was a corporate broking and shareholder advisory director since January 2018 .
She had been an equities analyst at Deutsche Bank between 2003 and 2017, covering industrial companies after working at rival Citi.
The departure is the latest involving Deutsche Bank staff, with at least 50 employees at the bank said to be in search of new roles.
Head of Australian financial industry group investment banking Sally Mihell recently left to become the National Australia Bank’s head of investor relations.
Various equities analysts left to join CLSA including Anthony Hoo and Ben Brownette and sales traders Anthony Goonan and Nathan Lewis.
