Woolworths tap Steve Donohue for top Endeavour Drinks role
Steve Donohue has been tapped to replace Martin Smith as manager of Woolworths’ Endeavour Drinks.
Woolworths has appointed Steve Donohue as incoming managing director of Endeavour Drinks, the umbrella business of the group’s Dan Murphy’s and BWS liquor stores.
Mr Donohue, who is currently the supermarket’s buying and merchandising director, will take over the reins from Martin Smith in April, who is set to retire at the end of the financial year following a transition period.
“We are pleased to announce Steve and the new managing director of Endeavour Drinks,” said Woolworths Group CEO Brad Banducci.
“I would like to thank Martin Smith for his significant contribution to Endeavour Drinks. Martin and the Endeavour Drinks team have helped build the leading business we have today.”
Mr Donohue has held a number of roles within the Woolworths’ (WOW) drinks business, including starting out as a Dan Murphy’s store manager when he was 19 years old, before progressing into senior buying, merchandising and marketing roles.
“Steve rejoins our drinks team after spending the last five years rebuilding our buying and merchandising capabilities, with countdown in New Zealand and more recently in his role with Woolworths supermarkets in Australia,” Mr Banducci said.
