National Australia Bank has said it is “making progress” on addressing issues relating to an overnight outage that impacted services to its customers.

The issue has affected several of the bank’s systems, including its mobile internet banking facility, customer call centres and the processing of some payments.

“Many customers are now able to log on to NAB Connect, NAB Internet Banking and UBank Online Banking,” Andrew Hagger, chief customer officer, consumer banking and wealth at NAB (NAB), said.

“We have also now processed a large number of overnight transactions, which had been delayed.

“However, I understand there are still customers waiting for payments — this delay is not acceptable and we apologise.”

NAB’s ATMs are operating as normal, while payment by NAB cards is also available as normal.

“We’re sorry that we’ve let our customers down and we’ll do our best today to work with you through our branches,” Mr Hagger added.

“We recognise the impact that this outage is causing and we can assure you we’re working hard to make things right.”

Further updates on the processing issues are expected through the day.
