Bellamy’s ‘playing games’ over share register: Jan Cameron
Dissident shareholder Jan Cameron has accused Bellamy’s of refusing to release its share register.
The battle for control of Bellamy’s has taken a fresh twist, with dissident shareholder Jan Cameron accusing the company of refusing to release its share register to Black Prince Foundation after its move to requisition an investor meeting to decide the firm's future.
Ms Cameron said Bellamy’s 14.5 per cent shareholder, Black Prince, requested a full copy of the share register two weeks ago but was yet to receive it.
“They are playing games about giving it to us,” she said yesterday.
Any ASX-listed company subject to a shareholder requisition notice is required to produce a copy of its full register ahead of an extraordinary meeting of shareholders.
The Bellamy’s meeting is scheduled for February 28.
But Bellamy’s said yesterday that Black Prince had failed to complete the formalities required for its company secretary to release the register.
“The company confirms it has received a request for the share register. Once the appropriate paperwork has been completed, it will be provided as required,” a spokesman said.
But Ms Cameron claimed Black Prince had made its request “through the proper processes”.
“We still do not have the register. They are playing funny buggers. Whatever they say, we still don’t have the register.”
Black Prince last week wrote to Bellamy’s demanding chairman Rob Woolley’s letter to shareholders, released 10 days ago ahead of the EGM, be reissued as it made false claims.
Mr Woolley’s letter said Ms Cameron had made an “unsolicited’’ approach to provide financial assistance to the company.
