EXA - the first racing series from Airspeeder

Recruitment is picking up as companies emerge from the summer holidays, and some of the jobs on offer in South Australia sit right at the cutting edge of new technology.

AIRSPEEDER - HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Airspeeder and related company Alauda Aeronautics have developed electric-powered flying cars, and are on the cusp of launching a global Grand Prix series with the backing of major brands such as DHL and IWC Schaffhausen. Airspeeder is looking for a Head of Operations as it ramps up towards it first manned flight and the running of several global racing events.

SPACETALK - GENERAL COUNSEL

Smartwatch company Spacetalk’s products are sold across Australia, the US and Europe, and help parents communicate with their children, and offer them a safe smartwatch option. The ASX-listed company is looking for a general counsel and company secretary to come on board and advise across all business areas, as the company seeks to keep growing its business.

LUMINATION - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Virtual reality is no longer just about gaming, with the technology in high demand for training, education and government and defence applications. Lumination, which has learning labs in Adelaide and Sydney, “provides immersive technology to Education, Government, Defence and Enterprise with a focus on artificial intelligence driven object recognition and XR training simulations along with complimentary Lumination Learning Lab immersive facilities’’. The company is offering an uncapped salary, as well as stock options and perks such as “mindfulness and meditation training’’.

MINDA - CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Minda, which has been embroiled in controversy since sacking its two most senior executives last year, is on the hunt for a chief financial officer. This role, reporting to the chief executive, will involve guiding the strategic direction of the disability services provider, as well as oversight of the financial reporting and regulatory obligations. Minda had a challenging year in 2020-21, losing almost $5m.

ECH - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Aged care services provider ECH farewelled its well-regarded CEO David Panter recently, who left to take up the top job at Minda. This leaves big shoes to fill at the organisation, which has an annual budget of $70m and about 700 staff. ECH has been committed to innovating in the aged care space, engaging with and investing in start-ups, and is looking for an “inspirational and contemporary leader”.

CITY OF ADELAIDE - ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, INFRASTRUCTURE

Our CBD council has more than $2.6bn in infrastructure assets, and an engaged constituency which keeps a sharp eye on how they’re being managed. In this role, which pays $215,00-$225,000 per year, you’ll be called upon to guide the city’s infrastructure team, as it executes the council’s strategic plan out to 2024.
