Sydney Airport has upgraded the lookout for plane spotters, giving them a site to watch some 345,000 plane movements each year.

Shep’s Mound is named after aviation enthusiast Bruce C. Shepherd, who died in 2005.

He was known for showing international visitors Sydney’s best plane-spotting sites.
