No issues were reported on the United Airlines flight from San Francisco, which had 139 passengers and six crew members.
The airport’s property was searched, but the missing panel wasn’t found, according to the report.
In a statement, United Airlines said it would examine the plane and perform repairs before returning it to service, KOBI-TV 5 reported.
“After the aircraft was parked at the gate, it was discovered to be missing an external panel,” the United spokesperson said. “We’ll conduct a thorough examination of the plane and perform all the needed repairs before it returns to service. We’ll also conduct an investigation to better understand how this damage occurred.”
