Qantas chief Alan Joyce is due to update the airline’s outlook on Thursday, on the back of increased demand flowing from the opening of state borders within Australia.

The airline will issue a statement to the ASX detailing its position in the wake of the border openings.

In 2019 the airline recorded just over $1bn in earnings from its domestic operations, out of total earnings of $1.3bn.

The company is slashing costs with 2500 ground crew to be outsourced on top of 6000 jobs already gone.

Joyce will also be asked to update the market on its long term head office location.
