Woman left with head injuries after attempted aggravated carjacking

A woman was left with head injuries after an attempted aggravated carjacking, while a man also suffered minor injuries.

New footage has been released after a woman was left with head injuries in an attempted aggravated carjacking.

A man has left a 34-year-old Wheelers Hill woman with non-life-threatening head injuries after an attempted aggravated carjacking in Oakleigh in Melbourne’s southeast.

Police say the woman was approached while she was sitting in her parked black Maserati SUV on Atherton Rd about 6pm on August 2.

She was then dragged out of her car and assaulted by an unknown man, according to police.

The woman was taken to hospital after she suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A 40-year-old Point Cook man who witnessed the incident was treated at the scene after he suffered minor injuries.

A man police believe may have information about the incident is described as aged in his 40s of Middle Eastern appearance with a medium build, beard, moustache and shaggy hair.

He was last seen wearing a black coat, dark pants and black runners.

Police have urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
