A two-year-old boy is fighting for life after nearly drowning at a property at Maraylya, in Sydney’s northwest.
A NSW Police spokesperson told NCA NewsWire emergency services responded to reports of a boy falling into a private dam on a property on Pebbly Hill Rd about 10.30am Thursday.
Paramedics performed CPR on the boy before a CareFlight helicopter was called to the scene.
But the toddler was transported by road to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where he remains in a critical condition.
About 30 children younger than five have drown in Australia each year for the last decade, according to figures from Royal Life Saving Australia.
