Tradie trapped after crane crashes on residential Sydney street
A crane has toppled over in a quiet residential street, leaving a tradie stuck inside the cabin and dangling metres above the ground.
A crane has toppled over in a residential street in Sydney’s southwest, while the driver was still inside.
Emergency services were called to a residential property on Seeland Pl in Padstow Heights shortly after 4pm on Tuesday after reports of a crane falling over.
The crane had been used as part of a housing development in the street when it collapsed.
Inside the heavy machinery was a construction worker, who became stuck inside the cabin after it toppled over, and was left dangling 2m off the ground.
Tradies helped the construction worker escape the crane with a ladder.
The man was taken to hospital by one of his colleagues for minor injuries, a NSW Police spokesman told NewsWire.
“Ambulance were called off before attending,” they said.
