A senior producer at Channel 9’s Today show has been charged with sexual assault. He denies the allegation.

A senior producer at the Today show has been charged with sexual assault.

Supervising producer Tom Nicol, 32, appeared in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday after being charged with sexual intercourse without consent. Nichol denies the allegation.

Tom Nicol, a senior producer at Channel 9's Today show, was arrested on Tuesday.

NSW Police confirmed they arrested a 32-year-old man at a Bondi home just before 7.30pm on Tuesday.

“He was taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with sexual assault without consent,” the police statement said.

Mr Nichol was granted bail with strict conditions including that he doesn’t drink alcohol or use social media and that he is home between 8pm and 6am.

“The allegations are strongly denied. The charge will be vigorously defended in court,” Mr Nicol said in a statement.
