Tennis champion Novak Djokovic has been living it up since touching down in Australia ahead of tournament

Tennis world No. 1 champion Novak Djokovic has been making waves out west following his return to Australia.

Novak Djokovic has been spotted snapping selfies with Western Australia’s famed quokkas ahead of the Australian Open.

Djokovic has been seen out and about since arriving back in the country on Thursday.

He was photographed wearing a bucket hat and shirtless on Rottnest Island on Friday.

The current world No. 1 toured the popular tourist attraction with his Serbian teammates.

Soaking up the sun and taking a dip in the crystal blue water, Djokovic appeared cool, calm and collected before what promises to be a big summer of tennis for the 36-year-old.

Before he attempts to secure an 11th title in Melbourne at this year’s Australian Open, Djokovic will team up with his home team to compete in the United Cup hosted between WA and NSW.

The team-based competition is running through the New Year with 18 countries battling it out for national pride, a share of a $10m prize pool and 500 ranked points.

Perth’s RAC Arena and Sydney’s Ken Rosewall Arena will host a total of 75 fast-paced games, incorporating a men’s singles match, a women’s single match and a mixed doubles match in each round.

Djokovic has been defying his age, winning three grand slams last year.

His storeyed and record-breaking history playing in Australia was marred following his deportation from the country in January 2022 following controversy surrounding his Covid-19 vaccination status.

Seeking a 24th grand slam, Djokovic said earlier this week that he hoped the Australian Open would not be his last tour down under.
