Australian senator Jacqui Lambie has weighed in on the US election results as a number of key states still hang in the balance.

US presidential election in limbo as counting remains underway

Tasmanian Senator Jacqui Lambie has warned another four years under Donald Trump will be a “bloody disaster”.

The future leader of the US remains unclear – despite Trump claiming victory on election night – with a handful of states still hanging in the balance.

Senator Lambie told Today she spent all of Wednesday watching the results unfold.

“It’s terribly concerning,” she said.

“If you let him in for another four years, it won’t be making America great, it will be making America a bloody disaster.

“It really bothers me a lot. It is just a total, utter mess.”

She also raised serious concerns about the growing division in America.

“I think if he loses, trying to get him out of the White House is going to be your next move,” she said.

“Good luck with that.”
